I have lived in Paris for 15 years and  have seen the changes it has gone through. I am from nearby Waterloo, but I have been enjoying the rivers and trails in Paris for decades. Snowmobile trails as well. 

I will endeavour in this section to give a bit more insight into my background. Like it was an interview. Essentially campaigning for public office is one long interview. As it should be. 

Early in life I wanted to be in social work, until I reached university and wanted to be in business. I started my first company with my Dad, selling soccer cards in Britain.  I ended up leaving university and spending a few months in Scotland  building the business. My business expanded after that to the Canadian market where I came up with a new product, The Mini Net. I sold this product in stores all across the country, and all across the world with a deal with Toys R Us. While most of my friends were still in university, or just finishing, I was in board rooms making significant business deals. I also did a little work with one of  Wayne Gretzky’s companies, and got to know local legend Walter Gretzky as well.

I was also involved in the print industry, as my Dad owned a few printing companies. I had done every job in a print shop by that point. The print industry was one of the first industries to adapt to computers as an important piece of production and workflow. Inevitably someone had to figure out to diagnose and fix these new machines. This was my entry into the world of I.T. and computers. Before the internet arrived. 

Fast forward a few decades to the 2000’s , when I decided to back to college to earn a diploma saying I can fix computers, etc. My diploma is in Network Systems Engineering. One thing my professors said was that I have a unique set of skills. I am a tech nerd with people and business skills. I didn’t realize that was a rare combination. My entire career has been mostly about figuring out solutions to complex technical problems.

I have led sales, marketing, production, and social work teams. I have learned to get the best out of people and encourage other opinions. Sales and business is about building relationships. To build successful relationships you must be honest and willing to listen. You also can’t be dishonest and be in social work, people see through you. 

I will use all of my skills and experience to attract more businesses to Paris and county, by preferably filling the empty factories and buildings that already stand before building new ones.

I hope this helps you understand me a bit better, and my motivations for running for public office. I hope you vote for me ,I will work hard for you and always listen to your voice.

In closing I’d like to quote the words of a famous Canadian who is from another beautiful little town in Ontario, not that far from Brant,  Neustadt.
